Following last week’s announcement of the superstar’s seventh album “Renaissance”, fans had been left speculating how the singer’s 2016 follow-up to the critically acclaimed “Lemonade” will sound.

The new era of Beyonce has officially kicked off with the release of ‘Sasha Fierces’ brand-new vibrant disco-inspired track “Break My Soul”. The track gives fans a taste of what to expect from the new direction the former Destiny’s Child singer is going in. With fans promised yet another transformative and explorative venture.

Since the release of her last album “Lemonade”, Beyonce stepped away from solo work and instead opted for a more collaborative approach which saw the release of “Everything is Love” which was created alongside husband Jay-Z, followed by the release of the singer first-ever Live Album “Homecoming” which featured her 2018 ground-breaking Coachella performance.

The singer also swapped the limelight for a new challenge in acting, voicing the lioness Nala in the 2019 remake of “The Lion King” as well as featuring on the soundtrack of the film alongside artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Childish Gambino, Tierra Whack, Jay-Z, 070 Shake, Major Lazer, and Baby Keem.

The following year, Beyonce released “Black Parade” complimented by the singer’s first visual album “Black Is King”, following the major counter-cultural and human rights movement of Black Lives Matter across America.

Beyonce had swapped her angelic and ballad-style songs for something much more heartfelt and closer to home. The singer went on to win the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance with the visual album also picking up the Best Rap Song and Best Music Video awards.

Returning to the cinema in 2022, Beyonce received an Oscar Nomination for the track “Be Alive” which she penned alongside Darius Scott Dixson for the movie King Richard, unfortunately losing out to Billie Eilish with “No Time To Die”.

With the singer keeping very busy since “Lemonade”, fans were still left wanting more, questioning whether we would ever see the day when another solo track would be released.

It was until last month when the singer had decided to remove every post from her Instagram that fans released something that was definitely in the works. Queue “Renaissance”.

With the seventh studio album set to be released next month on the 29th of July, Beyonce gave her fans a taste of what to expect with her first brand new single “Break My Soul”, a vibrant and upbeat disco/house track which has been co-produced by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream.

While the track is just a small taste of what the singer has in store, fans can definitely expect another ground-breaking release with the album expected to bring a larger-than-life dance feel which the singer had also teased in her Vogues July Cover story. The track marks a long-awaited return to form.

“Break My Soul” features two samples, one being the synth melody from Robin S house classic “Show Me Love” and a vocal from Big Freedia’s track “Explode” which when combined with Beyonce’s songwriting and voice creates a dynamic and catchy beat that fans will have certainly have on repeat for weeks to come.

Following the release of the first single since last year “Be Alive”, Big Feedia had turned to Twitter to compliment the track saying “It feels surreal to be on the track with the Queen, once again I’m so honored to be a part of this special moment”, aren’t we all.

With rumor having it that the star has spent the last two years putting all her love and many sleepless nights into this project, I think I speak for us all when I say we can’t wait to hear it.

Renaissance: Act I will be released 29th July.
