Solardo and Comanavago team up for rework of Sylvester’s disco classic ‘You Make Me Feel’

Solardo and Comanavago have teamed up to give Sylvester’s 1978 disco classic – You Make Me Feel – a whole new lease of life.

Hailing from Manchester, production duo Mark Richards & James Eliot, collectively known as Solardo, continue to push the envelope in dance music.

Solardo re-live the 1970s with hit rework of Sylvester’s You Make Me Feel

They collaborated with super-hot LGBQTI+ electro-pop duo Comanavago for the rework – which took its place in the Top 10 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

The track kicks off with the legendary bassline teasing alongside scintillating piano arpeggios. A galloping beat drops in with heavy sidechaining – providing a boost to the groove before a powerfully re-sung vocal pays homage to that legendary performance by Sylvester.

With euphoric breakdowns and drops that made it a foundational track for dance music back in the day, this version is beautifully recreated.

In short, with the re-sung vocals and an infectious house twist by Solardo and Comanavago, the track really proves the staying power of Sylvester’s music almost 35 years after the legendary gay singer’s death from AIDS-related complications in 1988.

Solardo and Comanavago collaborated for the reworked track.

The track’s new music video also pays tribute to the ’70s disco and sees Comanavago’s front members, Ben Dunkerley and Gabriel Swarbrick partying alongside an array of drag artists.

Bringing the joyous high-energy stylings up to date with a chunky house twist, this track will be inescapable over the summer festival and Ibiza season.

Crowned DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Act of 2016 and Best Duo of 2017, Solardo have blazed a mouthwatering trail to the top of the house and techno music world. The pair began their journey with releases on Viva, Repopulate Mars, Relief & Hot Creations.

Over the last few years, Solardo have rapidly ascended the ranks of dance music and now they are one of the big names in the game. They’ve collaborated with megastars like David Guetta, Tiësto, Marshall Jefferson, and Eli Brown – amassing a huge legion of fans across the world.

They have also dominated many festivals and clubs the world over and annually play at major festivals worldwide including Glastonbury, Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival Miami, Creamfields & Parklife.

Owners of three labels and the incredible HIGHER festival in Croatia, Solardo are building their own ecosystem – allowing them to release, play and book whatever and whoever they want, and it’s yielding huge rewards.

Besides that, Solardo will return to Ushuaïa Ibiza for a 16 week-long residency this summer – performing every Tuesday from June 14 until September 27. Tickets are on sale now at theushuaiaexperience.com.

Meanwhile, Dunkerley and Swarbrick, who formed Comanavago after meeting in university halls, are knocking on the door of stardom. They released their debut EP If You Think You’re Hard Enough in January 2019, six months before graduating.

This pair make music that speaks to people in instinctive and intense terms. Their music releases something that pop music has lost over time – free of gender norms, cultural inhibition and the desire to truly be themselves.
