Will Arnett spent an episode of his own podcast confirming he is in love and never once said the name that made it news. His co-hosts noticed. The press closed the gap in under 24 hours.
1. He confirmed it under questioning from Jason Bateman and still kept the name to himself
On the “SmartLess” episode of 28 September 2026, with Seth Meyers in the guest chair, Bateman asked for an update on Arnett’s love life and domestic life. Arnett, 56, said it was going really well, then added: “I’m very happy, very, very happy. Things are going great.” as reported from the episode. When Bateman and Meyers pressed, he told them they both knew exactly what they were doing and declined to walk into the trap. Name withheld.
2. The next day, People identified her as Emma Marciano, 28, daughter of the Guess co-founder
On 29 September, People named her: Emma Marciano, a Los Angeles fashion designer, daughter of Guess co-founder Maurice Marciano and the footwear designer Nathalie Marciano. Maurice started Guess in 1981 with his brothers Paul, Georges and Armand. Paul remains chief creative officer, and his black-and-white advertising campaigns collected Clio awards. Maurice retired from the Guess board in 2023 and now sits behind the Marciano Art Foundation, having previously chaired the board of MOCA in Los Angeles. The age gap made the headline. The surname made the story worth two days of it.
3. She runs a womenswear label called Mimchik, launched in October 2022 with a childhood friend
WWD covered the launch when Marciano was 24: she had studied at New York University, completed a one-year apprenticeship at Guess, and arrived with plenty of ideas and a sense of being overshadowed by the family brand’s scale. Her partner is Mia Kazovsky, a close childhood friend of Emma’s older sister, who studied at the Pratt Institute and had already founded and exited the accessories label Dooz. No revenue, valuation or funding figure for Mimchik is public. In a story this heavily priced, the label is the one thing without a number attached.
4. Guess left the stock market in January 2026 in a transaction valued at $1.4 billion
The announcement came in August 2025: Authentic Brands Group, Guess chief executive Carlos Alberini and brothers Maurice and Paul Marciano agreed to buy 51 percent of the company’s intellectual property. Financial filings reported by Retail Dive put the price at $16.75 per share. The deal completed in January 2026, and with it Guess came off the public markets after four decades of anyone being able to buy a piece of the denim.
5. The family kept 49 percent of the intellectual property and all of the operating business
The transaction announcement lists the Rolling Shareholders as Maurice Marciano, Paul Marciano, Nicolai Marciano and Carlos Alberini, together with their respective trusts, foundations and affiliates, now holding 49 percent of all Guess intellectual property. Hoodline reported that the family and Alberini also retained full ownership of the operating business under the same deal. Guess reported revenue of $2.99 billion and net income of $60.4 million for 2025. They sold most of the name and kept the business that uses it.
6. No two sources agree on what Maurice Marciano is actually worth
The Daily Beast’s Looker put Maurice and his co-founder brothers Georges, Armand and Paul at an estimated $1.2 billion combined, in a sentence that also describes the family as owning 51 percent of the brand’s intellectual property, which sits awkwardly beside the split in the company’s own announcement. Automated financial-data sites scraping old SEC Form 4 filings land anywhere between roughly $20 million and $177 million, none of them accounting for the Authentic transaction, private art or property. CelebrityNetWorth’s account of October 2007, when the Guess share price touched an all-time high of $57, has Maurice and Paul each worth a billion on paper. That was a share price, not a bank statement.
7. The most recent Marciano figure with a date attached belongs to a house in the Bird Streets
Hoodline reported in September 2026 that Maurice Marciano paid $18.5 million for a Bird Streets property in Los Angeles, the strip above Sunset where the driveways are short and the views are the whole proposition. It is a single-source number, and it is still the cleanest one in the file, because it comes with a month, a neighbourhood and a transaction rather than an estimate assembled from filings nobody has updated since the company was public.
8. Arnett has three sons and a decade of this already on the record
He was married to Amy Poehler for over ten years, and they share Archie, 16, and Abel, 14. He spent five years with Alessandra Brawn, with whom he has a five-year-old son, Denny; People confirmed that they had quietly separated in 2024. He then dated the model Carolyn Murphy from September 2025 until a split confirmed earlier this year, per Just Jared. Bateman asked for an update on the love life and the domestic life. Arnett answered the first half.
