THE second season of the feverishly popular HBO drama Euphoria started earlier this month, with the third episode set to air this Sunday, and a brand-new Lana Del Ray song can be heard during a sneak preview released on the show’s Twitter.

The one-minute-long video snippet features Del Ray’s unmistakeably ethereal voice on her new track, which is rumoured to be called Watercolour Eyes, alongside a voiceover from Zendaya’s character Rue.

It is so far unclear whether Sunday’s episode will feature the song in full, or if it will only be used in the preview. Watch and listen below:

Del Ray follows in the footsteps of English rapper Labrinth, who has also made original music for the show’s use. Zendaya also displayed her seemingly limitless talent by adding her vocals to All For US, a song featured in season one.

The Summertime Sadness singer released two albums in 2021 – Chemtrails Over the Country Club in March and Blue Banisters in October, both displaying her unflappable songwriting abilities.

Del Ray also reportedly has an album’s worth of unreleased material with the Last Shadow Puppets musician Miles Kane.

Kane, whose fourth solo album Change The Show is set for release tomorrow (January 21), spoke about his creative partnership with Del Ray after the pair have teamed up his 2018 track Loaded in 2018 and Del Ray’s song Dealer from last year.

In an interview with Far Out, Kane said: “We did so many songs. I think I was sorting flirting about putting it on an album, then she was, and then I got a call a few months back where she said she wanted to stick Dealer out.”

Kane continued: “That was the one song from the demos we did that had something really special, and it’s so real. The way she comes in and soars on her vocal is something that I think nobody has ever heard before. I like that she’s just kept it as the original demo we did when we wrote it.”

Meanwhile, if you haven’t tuned in yet, Euphoria is a gripping drama that follows a group of teenagers at a US high school, tackling issues like addiction, identity, trauma and relationships. It can be watched on Sundays on HBO at 9pm.
