Nelson Peltz is worth $1.6 billion, according to Forbes, roughly three times the figure RTÉ attached in January to the combined fortune of his son-in-law’s parents.
That arithmetic sits underneath every photograph taken of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz in Paris this month, whether or not anyone involved would say so. Victoria Beckham presented her Spring/Summer 2027 ready-to-wear collection in the city on Friday 2 October 2026. Her eldest son did not go. TMZ reported the following day that he and his wife had skipped the show and were instead photographed kissing on a Paris street, out with a couple of friends, Brooklyn in a white button-down and jacket, Nicola in a fuzzy cropped jacket and black trousers.
Nobody in either family has confirmed why. Snub or diary clash, the motive remains inference.
Wednesday at the Tennis Club de Paris
They had been in town since Wednesday 1 October, walking hand in hand through the capital, and were photographed at the Balenciaga show, part of the Paris ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2027 schedule held at the Tennis Club de Paris, according to Yahoo’s report. A runway was attended, just not that one.
The absence had a precedent, and a recent one. Hello! reported that the couple also missed Victoria’s Paris show in October 2025, while David Beckham and the rest of the family were in their seats. On the eve of this year’s show, Yahoo reported a video on Victoria’s own Instagram story in which David teased his wife about taking Fashion Week slightly too far. The family’s public register is affectionate, well lit and entirely one-sided.
Palm Beach, 600 guests and a chuppah
Brooklyn and Nicola married on 9 April 2022 at her family’s oceanfront estate in Palm Beach, Florida, with somewhere between 500 and 600 guests. They wed under a flower-garlanded chuppah in a traditional Jewish ceremony, in honour of Nicola’s heritage, as Page Six reported at the time. Architectural Digest has estimated the estate’s value at $103 million; The Sun counted 27 bedrooms.
The surname on the front pages was Beckham. The lawn belonged to the Peltzes.
Trian, $8.5 billion and a 13 per cent trim
Nelson Peltz is 83 and co-founded Trian Partners, which Forbes reports holds $8.5 billion in assets under management, with positions in Bank of New York Mellon, DuPont and Mondelez International. He was chairman of The Wendy’s Company from 2007 until September 2024, having shortly beforehand trimmed his holding by selling about 13 per cent of his shares at $20.30 each, per Forbes. He still holds 16.24 per cent of Wendy’s; Trian holds a further 7.85 per cent.
Against that, the figures attached to the younger couple come from aggregators rather than filings. Celebrity Net Worth puts Nicola at around $50 million and Brooklyn at around $10 million, money he has made from modelling, photography, cooking and brand partnerships. Neither number has been audited, and Forbes verifies only her father’s.
Page Six reported that Nicola’s parents helped buy the couple’s Beverly Hills house through an LLC linked to the family, largely funded from her trust, at a price that outlet put at $16 million; earlier reporting around the time of the wedding cited $10.5 million. Neither family has said that money has anything to do with the estrangement, and the suggestion that it does belongs to commentators rather than to anyone with a surname in this story.
Blocked in December, speaking in January
The rupture became visible in December 2025, when, reportedly after Victoria liked a video of Brooklyn cooking, the family found themselves blocked on Instagram. Cruz Beckham confirmed it publicly on 21 December 2025, saying that he and his parents had woken up blocked.
On 19 January 2026, Brooklyn, then 26, posted a long statement to his Instagram Stories. He wrote that he had been silent for years, that his parents and their team “have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself”, as reported by Hello!, and that he did not want to reconcile with his family. He said he was not being controlled and was standing up for himself for the first time in his life. He also alleged that his parents had controlled narratives in the press about the family for his entire life.
The original post cannot now be checked: Stories expire, which is presumably part of their appeal to people who use them for announcements.
The next day, David Beckham was at Davos and declined to comment to reporters. Six days after that, on 26 January 2026, Victoria was made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters at a ceremony in Paris, accompanied by David, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, and thanked her parents and her children for believing in her vision. On the same day, according to Page Six, Nicola posted a TikTok of married life captioned “i love you @Brooklyn Beckham”.
No divorce, no litigation, no court filing, no joint statement. Everything that has been characterised as a feud originates in social-media posts and in sources quoted anonymously by the press, which is why both families can continue to say nothing without saying anything untrue.
Malibu, a dog, and Elton John’s party
The pattern since has been consistent, and it is not retreat. Gulf News noted that while Romeo and Cruz did Men’s Fashion Week publicly with their girlfriends, Romeo walking Willy Chavarria’s Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show alongside then-girlfriend Kim Turnbull, Brooklyn kept a low profile and was photographed on a Malibu beach with his wife and their dog. Cruz had been pictured a season earlier leaving his hotel hand in hand with Jackie Apostel, ahead of his mother’s October 2025 show.
On 15 March 2026, Brooklyn and Nicola attended Elton John’s Academy Awards viewing party. They are not in hiding, merely appearing in other people’s photographs.
Two heirs, one frame
What makes the Paris week legible is the choreography rather than the emotion. A couple who travel to a fashion capital, attend a show on Wednesday and decline one on Friday are not avoiding the industry, the city or the cameras. They are declining a seating plan.
Brooklyn’s inheritance is a name that opens rooms and a parental machine that fills them. Nicola’s is a Palm Beach estate, a trust and a father whose stake in a hamburger chain is measured to two decimal places. One of those fortunes is institutional. The other is editorial, and spends most of its energy staying visible.
The entire Beckham family was last photographed together on 26 December 2024. The picture from Paris has two people in it.
