See You In The Desert: Coachella Is Coming Back For 2022

June 5, 2021 Share

Festival fans, rejoice!

America’s biggest party is back – the organisers of Coachella have finally announced the dates that the event will make its long-awaited return in 2022.

The festival will take place across two weekends next April, the 15th-17th and 22nd-24th. It may feel like a while away just yet, but advanced tickets have already gone on sale!

As of yet, no line-up for the 2022 event has been announced. However, given that Coachella was cancelled due to Coronavirus in both 2020 and 2021, we imagine they’ll be pulling out all the stops to ensure that this is Coachella’s best year yet.

Of course, it’s likely that we’ll see some names on 2022’s line-up that were previously announced for these cancelled events. 2020’s original line-up included Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Rex Orange County, Calvin Harris, Travis Scott and Rage Against The Machine, so we’re sure that, should this be the case, nobody will be disappointed!

We have no doubt that the organisers behind Coachella will be working extra hard on 2022’s event to mark its return in the most exciting ways possible – and not just to make up for lost time. The ill-fated 2020 event was set to mark the festival’s landmark 20th anniversary – a milestone that we imagine will be celebrated two-fold once Coachella makes its return.

No comment has been made by Coachella regarding COVID-restrictions at the 2022 event as of yet, such as a reduced attendance level or whether or not proof of vaccination will be required in order to attend. However, given how many similar events have taken this approach to ensuring the safety of attendees, many expect that only vaccinated individuals will be allowed entry.

Whilst the cancellation of events across the world has caused upset and disappointment in the last 18 months, few have caused as much widespread frustration as the cancellation of Coachella, an event that consistently sees upwards of 250,000 visitors at a time.

It’s hoped that this latest news will allow festival fans across America to begin looking ahead to better – more normal – times.

Coachella are in good company, too – festivals such as Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits are amongst those set to make a return in the near future, with some taking place before the end of this year.

In the words of Coachella’s organisers themselves, we’ll see you in the desert!

Tickets for Coachella 2022 will be released periodically on their official website.
