Dior | What Does It Take To Be The Face Of A Luxury Brand?

October 26, 2021

Dior is one of a kind, and recently they have just knighted even more young rising stars. Let’s take a look at what it means to be an ambassador.

Celebrities are critical and valuable to brands, especially in the luxury fashion sector. There is no argument about it.

Not everyone can fit the role but for luxury houses brands-whoever they choose has to be someone who shines as bright as their emblem.

With that being said, let’s take a look at the newly announced global ambassadors for the luxury fashion company – Dior.

Emma Raducanu

The 18-year-old and current US Open champion has become the brand ambassador for yet another high-profile brand, Dior. The British star will represent the womenswear collection, the luxury brand, as well as the French company’s skincare and makeup lines.

Joining Dior is not the first luxury ambassadorship for Raducanu. A month ago, she became the brand ambassador for the jewellery brand Tiffany & Co.

“When you’re satisfied is when people take you down. Keep aspiring to do things that people say cannot be done.”

– Emma Raducanu

Showed promise at an early age, finishing third in Orange Bowl 14U category, and fifth in the 12U category. In something of a history-making pile on, she was also the first British woman to win a grand slam since Virginia Wade at Wimbledon in 1977.

Now the star has been seen walking the red carpets and brushing shoulders with other celebrities alike.

In the weeks that followed, Raducanu made her Met Gala debut and mingled with the stars at the world premiere of No Time To Die. According to Harpers, Bazaar “, she was wearing an elegant Grecian-style dress by Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior.”

Today the talented teen has been announced as Dior’s newest global ambassador.

Raducanu’s new role “will see her fronting the womenswear collections as well as Dior skincare and make-up.”

Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy has only been in the industry for 4 years and only has a handful of big movie roles. But she’s making you scream and remember her name in the darkest way possible. With horror flicks like Split and The Witch under her belt, Anya Taylor-Joy is proving to be one of the biggest scream queens in Horror Hollywood.

Born in Miami Florida, the star struggled to fit into the UK lifestyle after moving from Argentina with her family. The Spanish-speaking sensational soon made her break at 16 years old soon after dropping out of school to pursue her love of acting. While walking around Harrods, a department store in London, Taylor-Joy was scouted by Sarah Doukas of Storm Model Management and her modelling career soon took off.

Her acting career came soon after when she was spotted by Irish actor Allen Leech – who referred her to his agent after being impressed by the highly independent lady. She landed her first role in the 2015 mystery horror film The Witch.

From here Taylor-Joy received praise for portraying the lead in the Jane Austen adaptation and in 2020 The Queen’s Gambit. Now the 25-year-old bombshell is walking away with numerous awards and nominations.

For example, some of these include a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a movie and the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding actresses in a television movie in 2021.

After Dior’s recent Emma Raducanu announcement, the French fashion house has just named actor Anya Taylor-Joy as its new global brand ambassador. According to Vogue, “Taylor-Joy will act as an ambassador for both women’s fashion and makeup, overseen by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Peter Philips, respectively.”

How was she chosen to be one of the multiple faces of Dior? Well, it all began at the legendary Golden Globes event this year. The star was spotted wearing an exquisite emerald green dress, custom made by designer Chiuri.

From here Dior grabbed the opportunity to get Taylor-Joy onboard with the brand.

Dior wrote in a statement on the news that:

“Anya will partner with the brand, celebrating the iconic heritage of Dior, and showcasing the designs and creations of women’s creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri and creative and image director of makeup, Peter Philips.”

Kim Ji-soo

The world first got a glimpse of Kim Ji-soo in 2016 as Mystery Girl No 3 when YG Entertainment cryptically posted images of its then-untitled upcoming girl group. That band turned out to be the world-slaying juggernaut that is Blackpink and today, as well as serving as its lead singer, Kim is the Korean face of Dior and will soon make her lead debut in a K-drama.

Someone who is also shining big limelight on the brand is Jisoo, the angel-faced beauty from the band Black Pink. Not only can the South Korean singer and actress work the stage but the multi-talented star is also known for playing numerous musical instruments.

We live in a world where we have to work hard to get what we want.”
