With fast fashion slowly but feistily leaving the game (au revoir, we can’t say we’ll miss you), shoppers are slowly reverting to buying quality, not quantity. AKA, trends are going to last a little longer than the viciously quick things we have been seeing populate our feeds in the past few years. Here’s what we’re expecting to see in women’s trending fashion for 2023.
All things padded
You’ve probably already laid your eyes on a padded jacket from your favourite shop, because there is simply no way round these. They are everywhere, and for good reason. Paired with the right accessories, they are prime examples of elegance. Dressed down with some trainers, they are perfect to keep you stylish, but casual.
Fur, Fur, and some more Faux Fur
Listen, bills are high, so it is only natural for people to reach out for furry coats to keep them warm. Jokes aside, big, extravagant coats are popping up everywhere, it’s all very Macklemore in 2013.
Fuzzy Mohair
Love it or hate it, Mohair is back. This type of yarn, made from the hair of an Angora goat is, furry, warm and a bit funky. We’re seeing it pop up in all shapes, colours and patterns, making it a great option to add some texture to your fits.
Clothing Cut Outs
Perhaps its a snippet off the shoulder, or a circle in the back of a jumper – either way, snippets of your clothes being cut-out is a booming trend. Again, making some of the most classic outfits a little more avant-garde, we’re bound to see many experiments popping up with this one.
Granny Vests
Preppy is in, at least when it comes to vests in trending women’s fashion for 2023. Great to pair with turtleneck jumpers or shirts, the weirder, more colourful and more out-there your vest is, the better.
