American-made Aviator-lover Tom Cruise is not an amateur when it comes to owning special arm candies. Recently the 60-year-young Hollywood actor was spotted flaunting an aviation Rolex Sky-Dweller watch, adding to his extensive collection.
Since debuting on the big screen in 1981, Tom Cruise, our beloved action star, has consistently grown his list of films, and, just as you’d expect, his net worth has grown in tandem–especially with a Rolex Sky-Dweller on his wrist. The Hollywood star makes more from a single appearance than most blue-collar workers do in a lifetime, and he has no problem putting that money to work.
As of 2022, with a staggering bank balance of 600 million, Tom Cruise is the second richest actor on the planet. So, how does something that deluxe with cash spend their money? From fast cars to fighter jets, a compelling real estate portfolio to an opulent vessel, it’s no surprise that the Mission Impossible A-lister has a couple of drawers loaded with expensive watches.
Recently the Rolex Sky-Dweller flashed its fortune on the wrist of an adrenaline junkie Cruise. This watch comes in at an average price of $35,600. When the Rolex Sky-Dweller came out in 2012, it was heralded as the most complicated watch Rolex had ever made. And it was, but no one bought one. Only available in precious metals and with the price tag of a decent executive saloon, the collective chant could be heard almost from space: “I’ll get one when they make it in steel.” Well, now that time has come.
Not that it’s strictly steel as of yet, but today it is made from something some might say is even better – white gold. On the face, you’ll notice the fully functional annual calendar pops out underneath the propeller-looking hands of time. Luckily enough, these figures only need tweaking once a year.
But even though Rolex decided to strip the Sky-Dweller down, it’s what lays within that counts. Many complicated watches look like they require an overabundance of hidden pushers to adjust everything. Still, with a silver-lined Rolesor Jubilee bracelet turning the cogs of time, it’s no wonder it measures 50.6mm from lug to lug.
Rapper Jay-Z’s got the 18K yellow gold and champagne-coloured dial model. Conor McGregor called the 18K Everose gold and chocolate-dial model his pride and joy – even actor Tom Hardy owns the 18K white-gold and ivory-dial model.
So, it’s only fair that the legendary Tom Cruise gets his chance to fight bad guys and tumble out of explosions whilst wearing the black-tinted, 18K white gold watch.
