While there’s certainly been a world of change in every industry over the past year, one industry that has well and truly come into its own thanks to the hard work of creatives at every level is live music.

With festivals cancelled, concerts postponed for over a year and huge restrictions placed on televised live performances, performers and creatives have all had to pull together to recreate the atmosphere of live music at a time when audiences can only watch from their couches at home.

Yann Pissenem To Revolutionise Live Music For Post-Pandemic World

In the case of many live performances from artists, these current innovations can be utilised to great effect. The live atmosphere in one area of music, however, is a little trickier to capture within the home: EDM.

EDM is a genre in which live performances really are all about the atmosphere – the energy of the DJ and the excitement in the crowd. Needless to say, the atmosphere of live EDM has proved near impossible to recreate across the pandemic.

Until now, that is.

In news that’s sure to excite millions, Yann Pissenem – the king of the Ibiza nightlife, having made his name as the owner of both Ushuaia Ibiza and Hi Ibiza – has teamed up with VR experts Sensorium to create a virtual experience that could transform the way that we enjoy EDM forever.

Their project is PRISM, an immersive virtual reality experience that aims to place EDM fans at the centre of a whole new world of live music performance. With PRISM, fans will be able to put on their headset and step into a fairytale universe where live music is entirely revolutionised for this exciting new age, enjoying the atmosphere of live EDM and being within an incredible, vast virtual space. It’s sure to give all fans a feeling that they have never experienced before – and without the pandemic, may never have experienced at all.

Sensorium describes PRISM as a space ‘where the world and the environment transform under the influence of sound frequencies and the power of sound’.

Yann Pissenem has given his own statement on the highly-anticipated project, too.

“We are creating PRISM for all those who carry the love for electronic music in their hearts. We want the powerful energy of dance floors to be released from the offline spaces into virtual reality – PRISM is to become a single hub for fans of this genre from all over the world to break free from any physical limitations.”

“We will let the energy of music and the power of sound rule this world, bringing with it an environment into the stages of constant transformation and rebirth, which will and let the users really feel the power of this incredible virtual experience.”

At the very centre of the PRISM world will be the performances themselves, with fans everywhere waiting eagerly to find out who will be first DJs brought on board. One thing is for sure – with his reputation as the man at the top within Ibiza nightlife, Yann Pissenem is certainly the man for the job.

Over the course of his career, he’s worked with countless incredible DJs, with David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Avicii, Luciano and Armin van Buuren all having spent time in residence at one of his award-winning nightspots, so there’s no doubt that the DJs in residence within PRISM certainly won’t disappoint.

It’s expected that PRISM will launch within the Sensorium Galaxy during the next few months – and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves!
