The 7 Best Christmas Pop-Ups In NYC

December 14, 2020 Share

‘Tis the season for festive drinking across the city that never sleeps

Anyone who knows New York City knows there’s always something going on in the Big Apple – pandemic or no pandemic. From the still buzzing scene of the Hamptons to the classic Christmas vibes of Rockefeller Centre – the City is lit up (figuratively and literally) and ready to embrace the holidays.

DDW uncovers the very best places popping up to get your Christmas cheer on and toast to an almost finished 2020:

The Standard High Line

The Meatpacking District’s favourite hotel has transformed their outdoor areas into an enchanted forest – complete with pine trees, twinkling lights, rocking chairs with fur throws and heaters – making it the perfect location to enjoy a hot chocolate, a festive cocktail or a warm mug of mulled cider.  To top it off, they will be projecting holiday classics in an outdoor cinema throughout the month of December. Oh – and you get free popcorn… hurry over and check out the screen times and movies here.

Igloo Bar At 230 Fifth Rooftop

NYC’s largest outdoor rooftop has brought back its famed igloo bar so you can enjoy the best views and best warm cocktails in town. Gaze across the nighttime skyline with a Spiked Apple Pie Cider or Pumpkin Pie Hot Chocolate in hand as you and nine friends cozy up inside one of the socially distanced winter domes. The bar will even provide you with a complementary red holiday robe to snuggle in – making sure that you stay warm and that your social feed pops.

Lillie’s Victorian Establishment

Enjoy a British Victorian Christmas in the heart of NYC. Lillie’s truly ups the ante with their holiday decorations, designed to amplify and the already sumptuous surroundings of real Victorian panelling and interiors shipped directly from a Britain. Give a knowing nod to one of the expert mixologists on site and grab yourself a seasonal cocktail whilst admiring the incredible garlands above.

Clicquot Chalet

‘Come up, slow down’ may be Gstaad’s motto but it works just as well here in the Clicquot Chalet. Kick back at Mr. Purple’s fashionable rooftop inside a purpose built temporary chalet, complete with furs, ski paraphernalia, pine treees –  and most importantly… a serious champagne bar serving NYC’s favourite grand dame Champagne Vueve Clicquot.

Snowday In Brooklyn x Yakitiki

Baby it’s cold outside – and it’s time to grab a cocktail. Williamsburg hip neighbourhood joint ‘Sunday In Brooklyn’ has teamed up with the trendy mixologists at Yakitiki to bring us ‘Snowday In Brooklyn‘; a killer holiday pop-up with a Japanese-Tiki twist. Enjoy creative cocktails and suitably hipster Brooklyn vibes.

Sleyenda

Sleyenda is not just a clever name combo of the Leyenda (which means legend in Spanish) name and Sleigh – it is a serious way to beat the holiday blues with cheerful Latin energy, world-class seasonal drinks and over the top themed interiors. Enjoy Toast Nutcracker Old Fashioneds and Coquito or kick your feet up on their two outdoor patios with a spiked cider. You can even keep the holiday-themed glassware… Feliz navidad!

Sippin’ Santa

Boilermaker gets a festive makeover with ‘Sippin’ Santa’ a Tiki themed wonderland designed to make you forget all your troubles. Feel your troubles melt away as you enjoy the extravagant Polynesian decor and drinks designed by the master of all things Tiki;  Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. Enjoy – and remember the old Tiki adage… “there’s no working during drinking hours!”.
