When it comes to maternity attire, Rihanna is currently competing with herself. Spoiler alert: she’s outdone herself once again.
Rihanna stepped out in another breathtaking outfit for the Dior show only hours after debuting her maternity style at the Off-White show at Paris Fashion Week.
Everyone’s favourite bad gal wore a sheer black dress with a dramatic red lip (we are assuming Fenty) to the Dior autumn/winter 2022 show, taking the underwear as outerwear very literally. Rihanna had a leather trench wrapped across her shoulders and accessorised with layered necklaces and leather boots. Everyone who thought wearing a bralette this season was outré was proved wrong.
In February, the pregnant singer told People that experimenting with style while pregnant was “fun” but also “a challenge.” “I like it. I’m enjoying it,” she said. “I’m enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy. If I feel a little chubby, it’s like, whatever! It’s a baby!”
She also told Refinery29 that she is dressing sexily on purpose. “Right now I’m really into pushing the idea of sexy,” she said. “When women get pregnant, society tends to make it feel like you hide, hide your sexy, and that you’re not sexy right now [but] you’ll get back there and I don’t believe in that shit. So I’m trying stuff that I might not have even had the confidence to try before I was pregnant. The strappiest, the thinnest, and the more cut-outs the better for me.”
The sultry new-season Dior ensemble was reminiscent of Adam Selman and the CFDAs sparkling naked dress moment. Seven years on and Rih’s devotion to serving looks is still unbroken.
