With the back-to-back release of two new business endeavours on top of her pregnancy announcement, September has been a big month for Kylie Jenner.
Kylie Swim, released on 17 September 2021 and Kylie Baby, released on 30 September 2021. They are set to join Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin in the beauty mogul’s rapidly growing portfolio.
In March 2019, Forbes dubbed Kylie Jenner, then 21, the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire. At the time, Forbes estimated that Jenner’s company, Kylie Cosmetics, was worth $900 million. That plus her personal earnings from the company brought her net worth to more than $1 billion.
Today, the 24-year-old billionaire’s new seven-piece baby care collection ranges from shampoos and conditioners to bath towels and travel cases.
All of the new Kylie Baby products are also made with safe and gentle formulas. Kylie Baby products are all vegan, paediatrician-tested, fragrance-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and hypoallergenic.
“This is something I have been working on for more than three years and it’s been so hard to keep this a secret. I’m so happy it’s finally here!” – Kylie Jenner
However, not all her beauty lines have been successful. Back in August 2021, Jenner announced that she was creating a swimwear line when she posted some teaser images on her Instagram feed and stories.
In the initial pic, she wore a pink-and-orange dyed style featuring a halter top, high-cut bottoms, and strappy details across the torso.
With huge excitement around the upcoming swim launch, once the sarongs, cutout one-pieces, triangle bikinis in bright hues like yellow and orange-and-pink ombré were sent out to her gigantic fan base, things took a turn for the worse.
Kylie Jenner is facing criticism from fans over the quality of her new swimwear line after customers said they received bathing suits that are see-through and coming apart at the seams.
Her fans flocked to social media to share their thoughts and some of the TikTok videos have even gone viral for simply been super hilarious.
According to Cosmopolitan, another TikTok reviewer shared that the fabric of the sarong is so heavy, she couldn’t tie it securely without it falling down.
People were also concerned about the lack of coverage, specifically in the crotch area. “It really doesn’t cover anything,” user Laura Lee said. “One sudden move and everything’s gonna be out. I would never wear this in public.”
Another TikToker named @TinyTello posted a video explaining that while she finds the cut of her swimsuit unique, she’s also aware that if she moves an inch in an awkward way, parts of her body will most likely pop out.
Kylie Jenner hasn’t directly addressed the backlash she’s receiving about Kylie Swim yet as the star is currently dancing on cotton candy clouds with her daughter Stormi. The launch of her Kylie Baby line is underway.
But in the past, she’s dealt with negative reviews by turning to Twitter to make public apologies.
Who knows what’s next for the famous beauty guru? Let’s hope her 272 million Instagram followers alone, will love her new dreamy products.
