Parallel | You Won’t Believe How Much This NFT Sci-Fi Card Game Is Worth!

Parallel is getting big — really big. The NFT trading card project announced the results of its latest funding round on Thursday, Oct. 21. Led by the $50 million investment from Paradigm — a VC firm created by Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam.

Parallel is on the path to becoming one of the hottest games in NFTs (non-fungible token).

The sci-fi NFT card collection, based on the Ethereum blockchain, Parallel Alpha has been in the top 10 rankings on OpenSea for the past few days – and the cards only launched late in 2021.

First and foremost, Parallel is a “trading card game” in early development with some of the most top-notch art. This new form of digital art may play an important role in the large-scale popularization of NFT.

The online company has had a more meteoric rise than most crypto projects, and investors have noticed.

Previous investors include YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, Focus Labs, OSS Capital and Yunt Capital, among others.

The game also has an intricate background story and mythology, which should promote a lot of game narratives and related content, such as books, comics, episodes and movies.

In the game storyline, “Parallel” is a group of humans who have evolved in the universe for thousands of years, and are now fighting to regain control of the earth.

There are 5 different Parallels to choose from Earthen, Marcolian, Augencore, Kathari and Shroud.

Essentially the project is based on a fantasy storyline about humanity’s escape from space following an apocalyptic attempt to resolve a global energy crisis.

Unlike some of the other highly valuable pixelated NFT projects, like CryptoPunks, Parallel’s art style is focused on realism- in a very scientific way.

Each card has been designed by team members with have experience in DreamWorks Animation and many other large studios.

The card game caught fire in August 2021 after its first pack drop amid a massive surge in NFT speculation. Today they currently have over 20 000 dedicated followers to their name.

Cards also have different levels of rarity: Common/Common, Rare/Uncommon, Rare/Rare and Legendary/Legendary. There are also super rare Prime cards, such as the following “The First Son of Mars”.

According to Crypto Briefing, the rarest pieces, unique royalty-generating items from a set called “Masterpieces,” have surged in value on the secondary market, with a high sale of 58 ETH, around $145,000, so far.

Two other pieces have sold for closer to $100,000 as speculation reaches a climax. The floor price for the more common cards, meanwhile, is currently at 0.04 ETH ($164).

However, some Parallel cards are being flipped for six figures by NFT collectors.

So how much is the firm worth?

The backing from Paradigm, Parallel told TechCrunch, brings the project’s valuation to $500 million – since launching in March 2021.

This means that the platform has raised $50million at a half-billion-dollar valuation from the Paradigm firm.

The founders, Merchant and Mr Gone, created the NFT card game in order to bring back that lost feeling of nostalgia. Who remembers walking into a store and choosing a new pack of collectables?

Collecting Pokemon or Yugioh cards were a huge hit. Nowadays, some real Pokemon cards can be very valuable.

A mint-condition first-edition shadowless holographic PSA 10 Charizard, sold at auction in October 2020 for a whopping $220,574. It went to a retired rapper and Pokemon fan -Logic.

The feeling of excitement of not knowing what cards you had in your hand, is what the creators are bringing back to the digital world. Their NFT game is pushing boundaries by stepping away from simply just holding onto a pretty piece of digital art.

It’s transforming into a community of people who now have to ability to control what they have in a form of a game.

Not only will they be up for sale but people, of all ages, can now really get involved in the decision-making process of trade.

The card game’s massive success is only just the beginning. As more and more collectors are joining the Parallel NFT game, the group are tirelessly working to expand the futuristic universe.

They have just launched an entire merchandise range too.
