Britney Spears and sister Jamie Lynn’s rift laid bare on Twitter

BRITNEY’S frustration over the behaviour of her family spilt out onto Twitter yesterday as she called out her younger sister Jamie Lynn, who appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old pop star shared a sizeable post on Twitter yesterday accusing her family of ruining her dreams. She took aim at her sister Jamie Lynn who she accused of lying about her mental state in 2008 in order to boost sales for her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said.

The anger was seemingly fuelled by a “104-degree fever” that Britney is currently suffering from, which led her to say, “the media, this business has always been extremely hateful to me”, before adding, “I won’t be doing Instagram for a while”.

The full post can be seen below:

Jamie Lynn wrote in her book that her sister had been starting to show “erratic” and “spiralling” behaviour before she was put under her conservatorship, which was quoted by ABC’s Good Morning America.

The book reportedly details Lynn’s own life story, including her daughter’s serious accident in 2017, and the role she played in her sister’s conservatorship.

She told the programme: “When the conservatorship was put into place I was 17 years old, I was about to have a baby, so I didn’t understand what was happening, nor was I focused on that.”

Jamie Lynn then suggested that her sister had approached her to ask if she “would be the person who ensured her boys got what they needed”, which she agreed to.

But, she continued: “Once I realised that, ‘you know what, she’s in a conservatorship’, I felt like I just didn’t want to be a part of it until maybe she was out of the conservatorship. So there was no me overseeing funds or something like that, and if that was then it’s a misunderstanding, but either way, I took no steps to be a part of it.”

Britney has clearly been riled up by these comments, claiming that her sister “never had to work for anything” and “everything was always given to her”.

The siblings have not seen eye to eye now for some time, but rumours are circulating of a Britney/Oprah interview coming soon, which will surely reveal more about their fractured relationship.
